Day 1: Welcome to Kigali – Rwanda!

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is known for, and later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Travel time +2hrs

Day Itinerary

After a delightful breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your safari guide, share short briefing and you will depart the hotel and drive to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Ground which honors the memory of more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through educational and peace-building. You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. Lunch in Kigali and after Lunch we will proceed to Volcanoes National Park through the magnificent route to Musanze which will take us max 2hrs of good road. You will reach and check – in for dinner and overnight stay.

Volcanoes National park

Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo in Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Visitors flock here to experience a face to face encounter with these intriguing creatures. The park is set high on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat. While the gorillas are without a doubt the main drawcard, visitors can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the Crater Lake on Mount Bisoke.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience at Volcanoes National Park

Day Itinerary

Early morning cup of coffee (Parents), then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search for the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, relax at your lodge and enjoy the great ample moment at your leisure or opt for one of the resort complementary activities. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Golden monkey and transfer to Kigali. Travel time + 2 hrs

Today after your warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off your day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though not so hectic like gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch, before you later drive back to Kigali, to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 – 7: Transfer to Akagera National Park. Travel time + 3 hrs

Day Itinerary

After enjoying your early breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and jump into your jeep to hit the road to Akagera National Park, which is roughly 2 hours’s drive from Musanze, and you will enjoy a beautiful country side view of Rwanda, on your way to Akagera. Akagera National Park is the only savannah park in Rwanda, located in the Eastern park of Rwanda bordering with Tanzania. The park harbors a number of wildlife such as Zebras, Warthogs, giraffes, Topis, Water bucks, and much more including the Big Five. Number of bird species can be sighted as well. You will be welcomed by your guide who will transfer you to your lodge, thus Magashi Tented Camp, where you will have 3 good nights here. One of the newly introduced luxury accommodation in the Akagera, and only tented camp pioneering sustainable and authentic ecotourism in Rwanda, and the only accommodation in the southern part of the park, creating a unique sense of seclusion, comfort, privacy and space, with spacious rooms, seated just adjacent to the showers of the Lake, giving a great chance to spot hippos, crocodiles and number of wildlife from your lodge. Lunch and dinner will be served on time, as you enjoy a luxury retreat. You will have choices of activities to choose from, and do at your own leisure, range from nature walk, Night and day game drive on an open safari land cruiser, with a great overview, plus a wonderful boat trip, where you spot, a number of hippos and crocodiles, including bird life. You will spend three nights in this beautiful accommodation, emerge yourself in one of the most impressive natural environments, with a quiet kind of setting. This place will give you a total setting to relax your mind, as you’re only in contact with the sound of nature.

Akagera National Park.

Bordering with Tanzania to the East, in Rwanda, Akagera National Park, is Rwanda’s only savannah park, patched with a number of bird species, with over 500 bird species can be spotted, and numerous wildlife, including the Big Five. Akagera National Park, has been recently stalked with Rhinoceros, and lions, which has greatly multiplied and improved on the wildlife safari experience in Akagera.  The park offers endless day game drives and night game drives including a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. If you’re truly into wildlife safari experience, Akagera National Park is a great add on, on your trip to Rwanda

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali. Travel time + 3 hrs

Day Itinerary

Today marks your last day here, you will have a relaxed morning breakfast, and later you will be transferred to the northern park gate, with an en route game drive, meet your drive guide and transfer back to Kigali, with an en route game drive, and later proceed to Kigali, catch up with lunch, later brief city tour if time allows, before transfer to the airport to catch up with your evening flight back home. End of service!
