Trip Overview
The 5 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Bunyonyi Safari takes you to visit one of the hidden Uganda’s national park, known for harboring number of bird species, and as number one top birding destination, and its beautiful channel, that harbors a number of crocodiles and thousands of hippos. You will enjoy both the game drives and boat cruise at Kazinga channel, before heading to Lake Bunyonyi, for leisure and canoe ride. The trip starts and ends in Kigali.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Journey time + 5hours
Day Itinerary
Upon arriving at Kigali International Airport/ hotel in Kigali, you will be met by our guide, who will warmly welcome you, share a short safari briefing and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is roughly 5 hours’ drive away from Kigali, through Gatuna border, with a wonderful en route drive.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a wildlife reserve located in Uganda. It spans over 1,978 square km and is home to a diverse range of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and over 600 bird species. The park offers various activities for visitors including game drives, boat rides, nature walks, and chimpanzee trekking. Its stunning scenery and diverse wildlife make it a popular tourist destination for those seeking an immersive wildlife experience
You will reach and have lunch at the lodge, and later head for a brief evening game drive in Kasenyi sector and later return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise at Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day Itinerary
After an early morning breakfast at 6:00 am, you will head for game drive in search for the morning hunters and grazers such as the buffalos, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, lions and variety of bird species that you will encounter on your game ride and later head for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel to view the water dwelling birds and animals such as the pied kingfisher, African fish eagle, herons, darters to mention but a few and see animals such as buffalos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants wallowing at the mad and much more. After a boat cruise, you will proceed for a short game drive as you find your way back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions later proceed to Lake Bunyonyi
Day Itinerary
Early in the morning, you will drive in about 2,5 hours to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha sector. This part is famous for its tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs around the world frequently climb trees for fun, adults rarely do. However, these lionesses enjoy spending the hot afternoons snoozing in fig trees to get away from the tsetse flies and to enjoy a cool breeze. This is the most memorable sight in the park as you have never seen such photogenic lions posing for your camera before. During a game drive you will try your luck! Meanwhile don’t miss the stunning scenery and superb birdlife in this southern remote section of the park either. You will later drive to Lake Bunyonyi with an en route lunch. Your drive may take 3 hours with a beautiful view of the countryside through the rolling hills of the countryside to Kisoro.
In the afternoon, you will spend the evening relaxing at your lodge, overlooking the beautiful lake.

Day 4: Leisure and Boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi
Day Itinerary
After your relaxed morning breakfast, you will head for a scenic canoe ride adventure, to explore some of the great hot spots of Lake Bunyonyi, a beautiful lake hidden within the great valleys of Kisoro. The lake has a number of beautiful islands that have become home to numerous bird species. You will later transfer to your lodge, have lunch and retire in the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for departure.
Day Itinerary
Have a relaxed breakfast, meet your guide and transfer back to Kigali, you will reach and be transferred to either your booked accommodation, or airport for your afternoon flight back home. End of safari!
