Day 1: Welcome to Kigali – Rwanda.

Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will brief you shortly and transfer you to the booked accommodation.

Rwanda’s capital and biggest city stretches across undulating lush hills surrounded by towering mountains, the largest of which is Mount Kigali, rising 1850 meters above sea level. Kigali is the country’s financial, commercial and cultural hub, served by an international airport and featuring a wide range of accommodation options, restaurants and points of interest, including the Kigali Genocide Centre, an atmospheric market and numerous craft shops. With its interesting architecture, busy streets, meandering boulevards, and green hillsides, Kigali is said to be one of the most attractive cities in Africa and is definitely worth a visit.

Day 2: Transfer to Bujumbura

Day Itinerary

After your early morning breakfast at your hotel in  Kigali, meet your driver guide and jump into your jeep find your way to Burundi border, with an en route visit to King Palace museum, proceed to the border for immigration process, later meet your guide on Burundi side, and drive to Burundi, reaching in late evening. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Visit Rusizi National Park and Bujumbura city tour

Day Itinerary

Have your morning buffer breakfast at 6:00 am, and 7.30 am, drive to Rusizi National Park, which is roughly 30 minutes away from Bujumbura city, undertake a scenic boat ride on River Ruzizi, which will reward you with a wonderful boat ride to shores of Lake Tanganyika. You will have a great chance to spot some hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species on your scenic boat ride on River Rusizi. You will later return, drive to the Burundi – DRC border, before returning to Bujumbura in the afternoon, head for lunch, to enjoy the famous Amukeke local dish fish. In the afternoon, after lunch, head for Bujumbura city tour, visit the velvet museum, local market and correlation square. You will return later in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit Gishora Drum Sanctuary and return to Kigali

Day Itinerary

After breakfast by 0700 hrs at your hotel in Bujumbura, meet your guide and drive to Gitega. From Bujumbura to Gishora takes about 2 hours and half depending on the stopovers along the way, with the beautiful landscape and Tea plantation on our way to Gitega. Once at Gishora drum sanctuary, we meet the team chef of famous drummers and take a sit to attend a fascinating show combining the sound of the drumbeat to dances, heroic poetry and traditional songs which take around one hour. After the show we drive from Gishora to Gitega city for lunch; after lunch, drive to Muramvya, Busekera to visit Handcrafts village where you attend a small demonstration of traditional dances and come back to Kigali and transfer to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure

Day Itinerary

After your breakfast at your hotel, depending on your flight time, you may take on Kigali city tour, with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial ground and other interesting part of the city or transferred to Kigali airport to catch up with your early morning flight. End of service!
