Overview
Join us on this 3 days Nyungwe forest hiking adventure tour! This experience will allow you to explore Nyungwe National Park. We take you by jeep where you will reach in the park, and later on take a nature walk to lesser known spots in the forest. The remote spots less frequented by tourists draw more animals. The secluded trails through the thick foliage and undergrowth are also more exciting as they let you experience the forest as it is- untamed, unpredictable and far removed from all human contact.
You’ll also have the opportunity to journey through Rwandan history on a visit to the King’s Palace Museum in Butare, as you proceed to Nyungwe National Park, for canopy walk, Isumo waterfalls hike, Source of the Nile hike and tea tour. Rwanda has some of the most stunning natural landscapes in Africa, and a trip here would not be complete without experiencing nature. Your drives through the country will be incredibly scenic, and you’ll leave with a clear picture of why they call Rwanda the Land of 1,000 hills!

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Travel time +6 hours
Day Itinerary
Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, and you will checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum, in Butare in the Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an en route lunch. You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe national park, proceed for Canopy Walkway from the Uwinka reception center and offer a chance to marvel at the views from 230 feet above the rainforest floor. Listen for the sounds of 13 species of primates and more than 300 types of birds. Sleep tonight knowing you’ll meet some of the noisemakers in the days ahead. Experience the rainforest from a dazzling new perspective on the famous Canopy Walkway.

Day 2: Source of the Nile Hike
Day Itinerary
After your breakfast, you will meet your guide and drive off, for the source of the Nile trail hike, to explore the beautiful trail and well get to the point where the source of the Nile is believed to start from. You will be able to enjoy the guided nature walk along the trail to know more about flora and fauna of the park. The nature walk takes roughly 2 -3 hours. You will later return for lunch and spend the afternoon with a tea tour experience, to learn more about tea farming and processing at Gisakura tea gardens. You will later transfer to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Isumo Waterfalls hike and departure
Day Itinerary
Today, have a relaxed breakfast and later head for Isumo waterfalls hike. The beautiful waterfalls trails, Isumo Waterfall hiking trail is a 10.6 km trail amongst tea plantations and lush green vegetation. Along the route, you will encounter exotic primates (Vervet and Black & White Colobus Monkeys) and the opportunity for spotting and an array of bird species such as the Rwenzori Turaco. The hike takes 3 – 4 hours, depending on your walking physicality. Later return and drive off, with lunch en route. You will reach Kigali in the evening, and drop off at your hotel. End of service!
