Trip Overview
This 18 days Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda adventure safari, offers you a great chance to explore East Africa, thus Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda, while visiting the key attraction in each country and you have a total wilderness experience to not just see the BIG 5, but to also witness the great wildebeest migration either in Masai Mara or Northern Serengeti, or both. You will as well be able to have an interaction with the local community to experience the true African culture, as you wind up traveling with chimpanzee trekking and golden monkey trekking in Rwanda, to set you up for the gorilla trekking encounter in Uganda. You will as well be able to do boat rides and canoe rides as mentioned in the itinerary as well as having Kigali city tour to wind up your stay. This is one of its kind, as you will enjoy the real African taste as you have bites along of the real local cuisines. The safari will take you all away from Kenya through Tanzania, fly to Rwanda, and cross to Uganda, later return to Rwanda and fly back to Kenya to connect to your flight back home.
Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi
Day Itinerary
Welcome to Nairobi – Kenya!
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport aboard an evening flight, and after clearance with immigration, you will proceed to the arrivals area where your One More Adventure Safaris representative will meet you and assist you into your vehicle, later introduce you to your safari guide. Transfer to your city hotel for check in with the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park. Travel time 3.5 hrs
Day Itinerary
Breakfast at your hotel. Introduction to your safari driver, pre safari briefing and departure for Lake Nakuru National Park by 0830 hrs. You enjoy a brief stopover as you drive down the floor of the Rift Valley. This will be a scenic drive via farm lands and the Great Rift Valley Lakes. Arrival and check in at your lodge / tented camp in time for lunch. You will then enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru is home to four of the BIG 5, among several other mammal and bird species. The biggest attractions though are White Rhinos and the seasonal lesser and greater flamingos that can be found during some months.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve- Travel time 6.5 hrs
Day Itinerary
Breakfast from 0630 hrs. Depart Lake Nakuru by 0715 hrs and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Check in followed by lunch. You then enjoy your first game drive in Masai Mara from 1530 hrs to 1800 hrs.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game drives
Day Itinerary
You will spend the full day exploring and discovering the vast Masai Mara reserve, enjoying game drives as you search for the resident Big Cats, antelopes and bird species. Be on the lookout for Lions, Cheetahs, Buffalos, Zebras, Spotted Hyenas, Masai Giraffes, Elands, Gazelles, Hippos, and Leopard, Black Rhinos and several other animals and birds that reside here. The Mara, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Africa is home to the Big Five as well as other predators, scavengers, plains game and prolific birdlife. This is also the place where the wildlife spectacle referred to as the annual wildebeest migration takes place every year between July and October when over 1.2 Million Wildebeest and Zebras cross over from Serengeti in search of greener pastures.

Day 5: Masai Mara Game drives
Day Itinerary
You will spend another full day game drive exploring and discovering the vast Masai Mara reserve. You will head out with your guide, and spend another day exploring the park, trying to find what you missed on the previous game drives, of course, a new day, and another strange encounter.

Day 6: Masai Mara / Northern Serengeti- Travel time + 8.5 hrs
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, collect your picnic lunch and depart for the seemingly endless plains; The Serengeti. You enjoy a three-hour drive to the Isebania border crossing point, clear with immigration’s and proceed to northern Serengeti. You will enjoy en route game viewing in search of the BIG CATS that reside here.

Day 7: Northern Serengeti game drive
Day Itinerary
You will spend the full day exploring the northern part of the Serengeti as you search for major wildlife sightings.
This is where you can witness the great migration between June and October as they graze in the savannah woodlands and along the shores of the crocodile infested Mara River with frequent River crossings between the south and north being witnessed regularly. After the calving season in southern Serengeti between February and March, the migration moves to Seronera in Central Serengeti between April and May, before arriving north from June. Big predators like Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, and scavenging opportunists like jackals, hyenas, vultures, Marabou Storks are always trailing the migration so you also have a chance of catching them in action.

Day 8: North to Central Serengeti
Day Itinerary
You will enjoy your breakfast, morning game drives in northern Serengeti and then depart for Central Serengeti with en route game viewing. This afternoon, you will explore the most popular part of the Siringet- the Seronera area. The abundance of both predator and prey here will amaze you as you cover different habitat and geographical areas during your game drives.

Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you depart to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. En route, you may visit the Ol Dupai Gorge, the museum where archaeological collections by Louis and Mary Leakey are displayed insitu. This is an optional opportunity to learn about human evolution and the early man. This afternoon, you descend down the steep walls of the caldera for game drives along the crater floor. Lions, Elephants (including huge bulls), Cheetah, Spotted Hyena, Black Rhino, Gnus, Jackals, Baboons, Buffalos, Flamingos (on the crater lakes), Hippos and even the rare Caracal are some of the animals you might spot here. You will then proceed to Karatu along the Ngorongoro highlands where you enjoy your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Drive to Tarangire for game drives, later, drive to Arusha.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast at your lodge, you will embark to Tarangire National Park for game drives and game viewings.
Tarangire is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are also an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Your game drives may reveal lions, giraffes, wildebeest, elephants, Zebras, wildebeests and much more. Lunchboxes shall be served to you by your driver guide at the picnic site inside the park with some rest before proceeding with game drives. Later after amazing hours of exploration, you will exit the park and drive to Arusha for dinner, and overnight.

Day 11: Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport – Rwanda
Day Itinerary
Following breakfast at your lodge, you will check out by 0830 hrs. Drive to Arusha city and immediately transfer to the Kilimanjaro International Airport where you board your afternoon flight to Kigali at 1400 hrs and transfer to Kigali.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will be met by our hotel representative who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is known for, and later drive to your booked hotel accommodation.

Day 12: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Travel time +5 hours
Day Itinerary
Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an en route lunch. You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe national park and spend the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 13: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk at Nyungwe National Park
Day Itinerary
Today, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe, well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a lucky day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Transfer to Musanze with an en route boat ride. Travel time +5hrs
Day Itinerary
Today after taking your early morning breakfast, and transferring to Lake Kivu, for a boat trip. You will head for a sunrise boat trip on Lake Kivu, which is roughly a two hours boat trip to explore this beautiful Lake and its numerous islands, you will as well be able to spot a number of birds as well as visit one of the Islands. You will later return to the lodge, and proceed with your drive to Musanze with en route lunch in Gisenyi, as you proceed with your drive to Musanze.
Volcanoes National park
Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Visitors flock here to experience a face to face encounter with these intriguing creatures, making it the most famous park in Rwanda. The park is set high on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat. While the gorillas are without a doubt the main drawcard, visitors can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the Crater Lake on Mount Bisoke. You can as well as opt for trekking the shy golden monkeys or head for a canoe ride on the twin lakes. The beautiful Buhanga Eco Park, still remains virgin and open to visitors, where you get more cultural insight in regards to leadership and kingship of Rwanda.

Day 15: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi. Travel time +5hrs
Day Itinerary
This morning, head for a Golden monkeys trekking experience that takes place in Volcanoes national park at 7:00 am. The golden monkey trekking, takes the same procedure as the gorilla trekking, however less, strenuous compared to gorilla trekking. These rare species are also listed as endangered – and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 50 members.
Golden monkeys in Rwanda live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes and habituation has helped them to overcome their initial shyness to accept their daily visit by researchers and tourists.
Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in a small group of no more than eight people, and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them. The endangered species are very active creatures, and jump from tree to tree which is really interesting and a little difficult to photograph!
Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, via Cyanika border post, which is roughly a 3 hour’s drive to your booked accommodation, for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Gorilla trekking Experience at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day Itinerary
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda’s officials and thereafter drive to the trekking starting point, have a short briefing before entering into the jungle to search for the shy mountain gorilla, for your gorilla trekking experience. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience in Uganda, you will have an informative memorable experience in life. Have a relaxed afternoon at your lodge, going through the beautiful photos of the great gorilla encounter, as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Boat ride and transfer to Kigali. Travel time + 4 hrs
Day Itinerary
Today after your relaxed breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, where you will have a wonderful relaxation moment, on this great beautiful lake as you head for a scenic canoe ride in this beautiful spectacular lake, as you enjoy a moment of bird watching, and viewing number of islands, hidden with this great lake. Number of bird species can as well be spotted here as it’s a birding paradise. After the boat ride, you will transfer to Kigali with an en route lunch, and if time permits, do a brief Kigali city tour with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial, before transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Itinerary
The 18 days, primate, birds and wildlife adventure comes to an End!
Have morning breakfast, head for a brief Kigali city tour and depending on your flight time out to Nairobi to your home country, you shall be transferred to Kigali airport, to catch up with your flight back to your home country.
