Trip Overview
The 12 days ultimate Uganda Rwanda and Burundi adventure safari, brings to you a great primate, wildlife adventure experience, curate with ultimate cultural adventure experience. The safari, starts with arrival in Entebbe, visit Kampala, before proceeding to Kibale National Park, the primate capital, for a world class chimpanzee trekking experience. You will undertake a nature walk in Bigodi swamp, before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park, for a great wildlife experience. Trek the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, hosting half of the world remaining mountain gorillas, which is a life time experience. You will as well as trek the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, before heading for a Kigali city tour. Visit Nyamata and Ntarama memorials, en route to Gitega in Burundi, for a Burundi cultural experience at Gishora drum sanctuary, which rewards you with a great cultural experience. If you have not visited Gishora, you have not been to Burundi. You will wind your Burundi tour, with Bujumbura city tour, visit to Rusizi National Park and Kabira National Park, and later drive back to Kigali, for your flight back home with an en route visit to King Palace museum. Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel
Day Itinerary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will meet your One More Adventure Safaris, Uganda Specialist guide. He will warmly welcome you, assist you, to your assigned safari vehicle, and transfer you to your Entebbe hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure, you can relax and enjoy the African atmosphere as you prepare for your upcoming next day’s safari adventure. You’re personal and experienced Ugandan Specialist guide not only knows a lot about Uganda culture, but can also tell you a lot about the beautiful national parks and sights of the country. So don’t be afraid to ask your guide questions – he will be happy to answer them all. Tomorrow morning your safari will begin!

Day Itinerary
Your adventure safari begins in style!
In the morning, after having your breakfast, you will drive to Kampala, have a brief Kampala city tour, with a visit to Kabaka Palace at Lubiri, to learn more about Buganda culture and later you will set off with a relaxed drive through the verdant countryside to Kibale Forest National Park with en route stops for sightseeing including the distant views of a number of tea plantations along the way.
Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park is a home to approximately 325 species of birds which include the olive long-tailed cuckoo, Western Green tinker bird, African and Green-breasted and African Grey Parrot. It is also a home to 13 species of primates, at least 60 other species of mammals. The visits to the park are mainly paid to the endangered chimpanzees. While visiting the Chimps you can get to see other primates including the red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoests monkey, Uganda Mangabey, the Ugandan Red Colobus, and the L’Hoest’s Monkey.
Arrive at the lodge/camp in time for lunch. But if time doesn’t allow, a warm delicious lunch can always be got at the restaurant along the route. Retire at the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Nature walk
Day Itinerary
In the morning, you will set off to the park headquarters for briefing before going for Chimpanzee tracking, where you may encounter other primates like Vervet Monkeys, Blue Hoest Monkeys, Black and white colobus Monkeys among others. The park is known as home of primates with 13 primate’s species including the famous chimpanzees. The trek takes roughly 2 – 4 hours, depending on the chimpanzee movement. One hour will be allocated to you, to have a wonderful interaction with the chimpanzees, as you take pictures and short videos, as your local guide explains to you all the biological background of the chimpanzee as you interact. You will later return from trek and head for lunch, in the afternoon; go for a Bigodi nature walk at Bigodi wetland sanctuary for primate and bird viewing, the walk can take roughly 2 hours, to explore the hidden treasure of this swamp, with great chance to see a number of bird species and monkeys. Later return and drive to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is roughly 3 hours’ drive away.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a wildlife reserve located in Uganda. It spans over 1,978 square km and is home to a diverse range of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and over 600 bird species. The park offers various activities for visitors including game drives, boat rides, nature walks, and chimpanzee trekking. Its stunning scenery and diverse wildlife make it a popular tourist destination for those seeking an immersive wildlife experience. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Game drive & boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day Itinerary
After an early morning breakfast at 6:00 am, you will head for morning game drive in search for the morning hunters and grazers such as the buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, lions and variety of bird species that you will encounter on your game ride and later head for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel to view the water dwelling birds and animals such as the pied kingfisher, African fish eagle, herons, darters to mention but a few and see animals such as buffalo’s, crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants wallowing at the mad and much more. After a boat cruise, you will proceed for a short game drive as you find your way back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Travel time +5hrs
Day Itinerary
After having a morning relaxed breakfast, you will check out of your lodge, visit the fishing village, around Kazinga channel, proceed to Ishasha, for tree climbing lion search, with a short game drive and later drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a panoramic view along the way, with an en route lunch. You will proceed with your drive to Bwindi. Overnight and dinner at the lodge.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Uganda. It’s known for its diverse flora and fauna, with over 350 bird species and over 400 gorillas. Bwindi offers a unique birding experience for bird enthusiasts, as well as gorilla trekking for wildlife enthusiasts. The park’s thick forest makes for an exciting and immersive adventure, attracting tourists from all over the world. It’s best to visit during the dry season for optimal bird watching and gorilla trekking experiences

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi and transfer to Volcanoes. Travel time +3hrs
Day Itinerary
Early morning, with packed lunch, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on the gorilla trekking adventure. The gorilla trekking experience is always referred to as a lifetime moment, as it leaves with a great experience of meeting the gorillas face to face in the jungle. You will be given an hour upon finding the gorillas to take a great moment with them as you watch the juveniles swing from one tree branch to another.
You will return from the trek, meet your driver guide and drive to Musanze via Cyanika boarder then after driving to Ruhengeri, to your booked lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali. Travel time + 2 hrs
Day Itinerary
This morning, head for a Golden monkeys trekking experience that takes place in Volcanoes national park at 7:00 am. The golden monkey trekking experience, takes the same procedure as the gorilla trekking, however less, strenuous compared to gorilla trekking. These rare species are also listed as endangered – and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 50 members.
Golden monkeys in Rwanda live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes and habituation has helped them to overcome their initial shyness to accept their daily visit by researchers and tourists.
Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in a small group of no more than eight people, and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them. The endangered species are very active creatures, and jump from tree to tree which is really interesting and a little difficult to photograph!
Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before driving to Kigali, which is roughly 2 hours’ drive away.
Take a Kigali City Tour which includes visits to old Kigali and craft markets, the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi to learn about Rwanda’s history, the Genocide against the Tutsi as well as other mass atrocities around the world. Exploring further, it is inspiring to see how far the country has come in past years. The recovery has been referred to as a true testament to humankind’s resilience. We stop at a craft center where you can haggle for unique Rwandan crafts and curios, and if time permits, we visit the Kandt House Natural History Museum, which covers both natural ecosystems in Rwanda and the intertwined Rwandan and German colonial history. We may also have time to tour Old Kigali where the colonial buildings now form the heart of Rwanda’s small businesses.
This evening, enjoy dinner at Hotel des Mille Collines – one of Kigali’s award-winning restaurants that offer modern African cuisine.

Day 8: Transfer to Burundi via Nemba border. Travel time + 5 hours
Day Itinerary
After getting done with your early morning breakfast, we shall drive to the south, to visit Nyamata and Ntarama, genocide memorial ground, which are one of the famous churches, hosting bodies for individuals, who were killed during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, as they were seeking safety custody in the churches, not knowing they were meeting their death, as the perpetuates’ never cared about whether, they were in the church.
From there, you will drive off to Burundi, via Nemba border, and proceed to Gitega, with an en route lunch. If time permits, you will visit National Museum of Gitega, then Boma, the former residence of the German governor before the First World War to learn more about Burundi history. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Visit Gishora drum sanctuary and drive to Bujumbura for a city tour.
Day Itinerary
Breakfast will be served on time, before we jump onto our jeep and we drive to Gishora drum sanctuary to meet the famous drummers to attend a fascinating show combining the sound of the drumbeat to dances, heroic poetry and traditional songs. Beautiful cultural performance, shall color our evening, we shall be left with no other choice but to smile, and admire how authentic the drummers are! Later we head to our jeep, and find our way back to Bujumbura, which is roughly 1.3 hours’ drive away, reach and catch up with lunch.
After lunch, we head for the Bujumbura city tour where we shall visit Five Color Square, Cross Memorial Tricolor Gate, museum and local markets. After the city tour, head to our booked lodge, relax at the beach. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Boat ride on Ruzizi and transfer to Kabira National Park. Travel time + 1.3hrs
Day Itinerary
Following your early morning breakfast, we shall head for a boat ride on River Rusizi, which is roughly 15 minutes’ drive away to explore this beautiful river with great attractions such as hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species, you will as well ride to Lake Tanganyika. There are as well a number of migratory birds that can be sported making Rusizi National Park, the best hot spot, for bird watching. For the bird lovers, this is a must visit place on your tour to Burundi. You will later return and drive to visit Burundi – Congo border, before driving off to Kabira National Park, which is roughly 1.3 hours away from Bujumbura.
Upon reaching the park, you will undertake a nature walk to this great park that rewards you with birding and primate life. The park is also home to the chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and other wildlife. Later head for tea tour experience, to learn morning about tea farming, followed by a visit to batwa community, before driving back to Bujumbura.
You will reach in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 11: Transfer to Kigali. Travel time + 6 hours
Day Itinerary
Following a relaxed breakfast, before hitting the road to find you’re away to Kigali, with an en route visit to King Palace museum in Huye, which offer you a great history about Rwandan culture and past Kingship leadership. You will reach at your booked hotel in Kigali, late in the evening for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay.
