The 12 days Uganda Gorilla trekking Masai Mara and Zanzibar safari takes you to the hearts of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, which is known to harbor half of the world’s famous endangered mountain gorillas. You will land through Kigali – Rwanda, visit Kigali city, with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial before commerce by road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to trek the mountain gorillas in Uganda. You have a chance to come face to face with the gorillas, a great experience of meeting the gorillas in their natural habitat, you return to Kigali and you fly to Kenya, later drive to Masai Mara National Reserve for a wonderful Big Five safari experience in the world’s greatest wildlife safari park, known for its unique bird species and abundant wildlife experiences. The safari starts with arrival through Kigali – Rwanda, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, return to Kigali for a flight to Nairobi – Kenya, drive to Masai Mara and ends with a flight to Zanzibar. Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel

Welcome to Kigali – Rwanda!
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will brief you shortly, lead you to your vehicle and transfer you to the booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Visit Kigali genocide memorial and transfer to Bwindi. Travel time +5 hrs
Day Itinerary
Today after taking your relaxed morning breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge, meet your guide, share a short introductory briefing about the trip, get into your safari vehicle and drive to visit the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, which honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994 through education and peace-building. You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors’ of the incident. Later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with an en route lunch to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Day Itinerary
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda wildlife park officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search for the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. An hour will be allocated to you upon landing on the gorillas, have time to share the same environment with the family, watch the mothers wean their babies, juveniles, swing on trees, as the silverbacks watch over the stubborn black backs. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will drive to your lodge for lunch. After lunch at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali and fly to Nairobi
Day Itinerary
Early relaxed early morning breakfast with your guide and later get into your jeep and drive off to Kigali, reach and catch up with lunch, and after lunch, if time permits, head for an added Kigali city tour with a visit to local market, and art galleries. Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to the airport to catch up with your flight to Nairobi.
Upon arrival in Jomo Kenyatta Airport, and getting done with immigration clearance, you will proceed to the waiting area, where you will be met by your Kenyan assigned guide, who will welcome you and transfer you to your booked accommodation.

Day 5: Nairobi – Masai Mara. Approx 6 hours’ drive
Day Itinerary
Breakfast at your hotel. Check out by 0730 hrs, board your safari equipped 4x4WD land cruiser and depart to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrival will be on time for lunch. After settling down, you will enjoy your first Masai Mara game drive from 1600 hrs.
Masai Mara Reserve is one of the leading national parks in the world, a natural habitat to over 95 mammal and 450 bird species. All members of the BIG 5; Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Elephant and Rhino can be found here.

Day 6 & 7: Full day game drives in Masai Mara Reserve
Day Itinerary
You will spend two full days exploring and discovering the vast Mara reserve, enjoying game drives as you search for the resident Big Cats, herbivores, various antelopes and bird species. (You may also opt for morning and afternoon game drives with mid-morning at leisure). Be on the lookout for Lions, Cheetahs, Buffalos, Zebras, Spotted Hyenas, Masai Giraffes, Elands, Gazelles, Hippos, and Leopard, Black Rhino and several other animals and birds that reside here. The Mara, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Africa is home to the Big Five as well as other predators, scavengers, plains game and prolific birdlife. This is also the place where the wildlife spectacle referred to as the annual wildebeest migration takes place every year between July and October when over 1.2 million Wildebeest together with Zebras and various Antelope species cross over from Serengeti in search of greener pastures. Your drive will dedicate time to trailing this great spectacle as it unfolds.
Hot Air Balloon Flight: During one of the days, you may book an optional (payable as extra) early morning hot air balloon flight over the vast Masai Mara savannah, enabling you to view wildlife and the landscape from a bird’s eye view. This is an amazing experience which is worth every penny. Dinner and overnight will be served at the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Nairobi and fly to Zanzibar. Approx 5.5 hrs drive
Day Itinerary
Breakfast will be served at your lodge, check out by 0730 hrs and, enjoy an extra game drive as you drive towards the park exit gate where you begin your journey back to Nairobi. Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant or at an Indian Restaurant– payable locally. Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on time to board your afternoon flight, having had an amazing safari experience and fly to Zanzibar, for a relaxing beach experience.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from One More Adventure Safaris and transferred to your beachfront accommodation in your preferred area, such as Nungwi, Kendwa, or Paje.
Take the rest of the day to settle in, enjoy the beach, and soak up the island vibes.

Day 9: Excursion to Prison Island, and Sea adventure
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, embark on a guided excursion to Prison Island (Changuu Island). Explore the island, learn about its history, and visit the giant Aldabra tortoises that reside there.
Enjoy some snorkeling or swimming in the clear waters surrounding Prison Island, admiring the colorful marine life and coral reefs.
Return to your accommodation and spend the remainder of the day relaxing on the beach or exploring the local area.

Day 10: Leisure at the beach and Dhow cruise
Day Itinerary
Start the day with a leisurely beach morning, where you can swim, sunbathe, or engage in watersports like snorkeling, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding.
In the afternoon, embark on a dhow cruise along the coastline. Sail on a traditional wooden boat, take in the scenic views, and enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch onboard.
During the cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel in pristine coral gardens and perhaps spot dolphins playing in the turquoise waters.
Return to your accommodation and spend the evening at your leisure, enjoying the sunset and the tranquil beach atmosphere.

Day 11: Visit Stone town tour

Begin the day with a visit to the historic Stone Town. Explore the UNESCO-listed old quarter, wander through its narrow streets, and admire the unique blend of Arab, Persian, and European influences in the architecture and culture.
Visit iconic landmarks such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the spice markets. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and discover the rich history of Zanzibar.
Enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the flavors of Zanzibari cuisine.

Day 12: Departure
Day Itinerary
Finally, it all comes to an end. Following your breakfast, depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport or harbor for your departure flight from Zanzibar, marking the end of your 12 – day sun, sand and beach holiday with One More Adventure Safaris.
