The 1 day Lake Kivu Karongi to Gisenyi excursion boat tour, will reward you with a great way to explore Lake Kivu, patched with a number of islands and birds. The boat excursion takes rough a full day experience of travelling from Karongi to Gisenyi, over Lake Kivu, while undertaking wonderful visit to Napoleon Island with a short nature walk over the Island to the bat caves, later encounter the swimming cow’s experience, with an en route lunch. You will later as well undertake a crop to cup coffee tour, along the ride, before dropping you off at your booked hotel in Gisenyi.

The Excursion:
Our guide will meet you at Karongi, where you will boat off your boat and start cruising journey along Lake Kivu from Karongi to Gisenyi, which is roughly 2 hours direct ride, but since we shall combine this transfer with an en route visit, this will take us more hours. We shall visit the spot for the swimming cows in Karongi, where we shall watch cows cross from One Island to another for feeding, across Lake Kivu, and later visit the Napoleon Island, named due to its shape, resembling Napoleon’s hut. There we shall take a nature walk, with opportunities to sight some birds and as well visit the bat cave.
Return and proceed with the cruise, and later have a stopover at Russell Kivu Lodge for en route lunch. After lunch, we shall continue with our journey, with a visit to Kimbili coffee station en route, enjoy crop to cup coffee tour experiences, before proceeding to your drop off in Gisenyi, at your booked hotel. End of tour!
