Kahuzi Biega National Park in DR Congo, is one of the best parks for trekking gorillas. The park is safe and has been under stable security, unlike its counterpart Virunga National Park, which has been under constant wars, leading to closure of the park most of the time, though Virunga has one of the best gorilla trekking experience, regardless of its unstable political situation. Gorilla Families at Kahuzi Biega National Park have now increased to 3 families thus Mpungwe, Bonne and Nabanga. Previously there used to be only two habituated gorilla families at Kahuzi Biega National Park, thus Mpungwe and Bonne. The new families of Nabanga split from Bonne.
